Heads up visual flaneur aficionados,
.
I am also an Urban Sketcher now. This is a community of artists who draw on location and share their sketches online. Definitely worth checking out – a lot of very inspiring work!
,
Here, I’d like to share more details about the drawings I posted over there.
Recently, I have been to Austria/Vienna and made time to explore and draw:
This is a park, I used to hang out in a lot when I was little. Sunlight bouncing of the leaves, summer was in the air – lovely.
.
The next one, I sketched in a Viennese coffee shop – part of it is a piece of the conversation that was going on in German ( in English: …well you can imagine, they are both Aquarii, they aren’t very cuddly…). I am certainly developing a taste for combining pictures with words.
.
.
.
In the end, an indoor sketch of the kitchen. Some of you might recognize in this elements from earlier posts.
.
.
.
I’ll post more of that trip in the near future. There are still some beauties left.
.
Take care and share (for example on Facebook with the link below)!
Ooh, and also you can still sign up (in the box on the top right) to receive the free Guide to Getting Lost.

Congratulations! I just got back from the second urban sketching symposium in Lisbon. I organize the Portland Oregon urban Sketchers group and we’ve talked about making a special trip down to San Francisco and try to meet up with folks down there. If we plan the trip, would you be interested in leading us around, flaneur style?
Hi Alanna,
I feel honored by your request. I am not yet in contact with the other USK folks here really, but I’d love to show you guys around.
It’d be wonderful to arrange a ‘flaneur treatment’ of the Mission district for example…
Did you have a good time in Lisbon? I envy you…
Please stay in touch.
